Sky Dive Academy – Shotton Airfield

What happens on the day?
A tandem skydive will typically consist of around six hours ground training. However, before this can begin each participant has to be checked in correctly. This usually takes between two and three minutes, however, on weekends expect this duration easily increase to around 60 minutes.
During the ground training sessions participants will be introduced to both the theory and practical aspects of carrying out a successful jump. Safety procedures are also covered in great detail in order to ensure everybody is safe and happy to proceed with the actual jumps. Once the training has been completed each participants (weather permitting) will be able to fit in one dive per each reaming hour available in the day.
If you are thinking of attending the Sky Diving Academy it is advise that you set aside a whole day in order to complete your jumps. In the event of bad weather conditions it is important to remember that jumps may get delayed or cancelled. No additional fee is charged to reschedule a new date due to cancellation; however, there will be a £35 charge for dates changed within 10 days of the booked date.
What are the criteria I need to pass to allow me to jump?
Like with any extreme activities there are a number of different criteria that need to be met before you will be allowed to participate. These are as follows:
- Need to be over 16 years old
- 16 & 17 year olds need parental/guardian consent on BPA Form 106
- Max weight is 15st 7lbs/98kg
Is there local accommodation where I can stay?
