When it comes to Twitter, my human-owner, @BlazingMinds, has always been the one I ask for some advice and I know that she has always praised Twitter for BlackBerry, but even she has now moved away from it in favour of the Twitter Application called UberSocial.
It all boils down to the latest version of Twitter for BlackBerry V2.0.0.11 and the fact that it runs like a snail. Even I’ve been getting frustrated with it slowness and constant loss of connection, so like my human-owner, I’ve decided to start using UberSocial instead.
Getting Used To UberSocial
It’s taking a little used to using UberSocial over Twitter for BlackBerry, for starters on Twitter for BlackBerry mentions come through straight away, well they used to until the recent version messed all that up. So with UberSocial you set the frequency that it checks for new tweets, a warning in the application does point out that anything more frequent that 5 minutes will cause more of a drain on the BlackBerry’s battery.
Tweeting is a lot quicker and even uploading an image is better without the loss of connection problems, although it is taking me a little longer to get used to UberSocial, it is much better than the current version of Twitter for BlackBerry.
I can see a lot of BlackBerry uses moving to UberSocial very soon, specially if the sluggish speed and connection issues are not sort out with an update to Twitter for BlackBerry.
The Verdict
If you are having problems using Twitter for BlackBerry then install UberSocial instead, I’m not saying it’s the best Twitter Ap out there, everyone has their favourites, but at least you’ll be able to tweet without those annoying issues!

Hi Slappy.
I think I will need a new mobile soon. I am stuck with an old Nokia E72 running Symbian OS wich is not really cool any more. Maybe a Blackberry or a phone running Android will be my next phone.

Hi Slappy, I wonder if Tweetdeck works good on Blackberry? I think it might be one of the reasons that Twitter got interested in buying Tweetdeck, but I’m not certain about that. I’ll spread the word about ubersocial though. Thanks.
